Jo Snyder is the Director of Media & Communications at Wellesley Institute. In addition to managing the day-to-day of all communications and knowledge translation (KT) activities for the organization, Jo also leads Wellesley Institute’s innovative lab practice, both as the principal designer and facilitator. Her research at the Institute looks at health perceptions of Canadians and underlying assumptions of how poor health is perceived, with the aim to find communications solutions for improving messages about the social determinants of health.
Before joining Wellesley Institute, she worked in the non-profit arts sector and the publishing industry. In her role as publisher of Shameless Magazine, Jo worked with a dynamic team to bring together an award-winning publication for teen girls and trans youth. Jo is actively involved in the local music community in Toronto. She has a BA (Honours) in Politics from the University of Winnipeg and a Master of Publishing from Simon Fraser University.
