Study reveals immigrants trapped by complex web of policy barriers

Social exclusion, access to employment and income distribution have been shown to be crucial determinants of health. At the same time, data indicates that while immigrants tend to have better than average health when they enter Canada, this deteriorates relative to the general population over time. Research like this (from Canadian Foundations of Canada) can be part of understanding why this happens.
