A day long workshop that introduces participants to both the 'grand' and 'practice' theories that drive decisions around research, programming, evaluation and funding in the arena of community health promotion.
Participants Will Learn:
- a brief history of health promotion and its link to CBR
- definitions of key theories affecting health promotion practice
- advantages, barriers and critiques of the theories
- how to identify the presence of theories in research, programming, evaluation and funding
- strategies for using key theories in practice/CBR
Who Should Attend:
- people who are new to CBR and/or community health work
- people who have some experience but wish to renew or refresh their knowledge of key theories affecting health promotion
- front line practitioners and managers
