Keynote Speaker: Sir Michael Marmot

Sir Michael Marmot is Chair of the WHO Commission on Social Determinants of Health and Director of the International Institute for Society and Health. He is an acclaimed international expert on health inequities and is widely recognized as having pioneered the concept of ‘social determinants of health.’ For over 30 years he has led ground breaking research demonstrating how social standing affects health and life expectancy. In 2000, Sir Marmot was knighted by Her Majesty The Queen for his remarkable contribution to the field of epidemiology and health equity.
