Update (April 16, 2018): Applications for the next cohort of Wellesley Junior Fellows are now open. The final deadline for all application material is Monday June 11, 2018 by 11:59 pm. Please see the sections below for detailed program and application information.
The Wellesley Junior Fellowship is building the next generation of social policy researchers who will work to advance population health and reduce health inequities in the Greater Toronto Area.
Our fellows are selected for their potential to anticipate, understand and creatively engage in pressing issues facing health and health equity in Toronto. By joining the Wellesley Junior Fellowship program, fellows join a growing community of talented alumni who drive change on the social determinants of health through applied research, effective policy impact, knowledge mobilization, and innovation.
Wellesley Junior Fellows will work with staff on major projects and initiatives that are designed to impact emerging policy issues affecting health and health equity in the GTA. Throughout the year, fellows will receive training and support and often have the opportunity to design their own projects. Fellows will gain opportunities to tap into WI networks connecting them with an array of community, research and policy leaders.
Wellesley Institute welcomes up to four Junior Fellows each year. Fellowships are educational and successful applicants will be awarded a $50,000/year stipend. The Wellesley Junior Fellowship program is based at Wellesley Institute in Toronto and lasts for two years. The next cohort is scheduled to begin their fellowship in January 2019. All fellows are expected to commit full time to the Wellesley Junior Fellowship Program. See below for more information.
