Update (February 6, 2017): This year, we have decided to extend the Wellesley Junior Fellowship into a two year program. We will not be accepting applications to the program in 2017. In January 2018, we are planning to post a call for applications for the next WJF cohort (September 2018-August 2020). Thanks for your interest in the Wellesley Junior Fellowship.
The Wellesley Junior Fellowship is building the next generation of social policy researchers who will work to advance population health and reduce health inequities in the Greater Toronto Area.
Our fellows are selected for their potential to anticipate, understand and creatively engage in pressing issues facing health and health equity in Toronto. By joining the Wellesley Junior Fellowship program fellows join a growing community of talented alumni who drive change on the social determinants of health through applied research, effective policy impact, knowledge mobilization, and innovation.
Wellesley Junior Fellows will work with staff on major projects and initiatives that are designed to impact emerging policy issues affecting health and health equity in the GTA. Throughout the year fellows will receive training workshops and support and have the opportunity to design their own project. Fellows will gain opportunities to tap into WI networks connecting them with an array of community, research and policy leaders.
Wellesley Institute welcomes four Junior Fellows each year. Fellowships are educational and a $50,000 stipend will be awarded to successful applicants. The Wellesley Junior Fellowship program is based at Wellesley Institute and last a year from Sept 1st to August 31st. All fellows are expected to commit full time to the Wellesley Junior Fellowship Program.
