It’s true. New research from the Wellesley Institute shows that, in addition to having social and economic benefits, a strong and vibrant non-profit sector is critical to individual and population health. Non-profits are a vital third pillar to Ontario’s enconomy, employing more than one million people (15% of the total workforce) and contributing $50 billion to the province’s GDP (more than the auto and contstruction sectors combined!).
