This interactive workshop builds on CAP 108 , Great Groups, and is designed to continue demystifying basic group and meeting management processes. Come to a workshop for program staff, volunteers and board members in the non-profit sector designed to support you and your agency to:
- Get more out of your meetings
- Work effectively with coalitions to set and achieve collective goals, and
- Decide when to lead and when to facilitate
Participants Will Learn:
- How to handle challenging group situations
- When to facilitate and when to lead
- How to direct the energies and talents of a group of individuals in a common cause
- What to consider when trying to reach consensus
- What participants want and need from a facilitator
- How to support a group from ideas to actions
Participants will have the opportunity to practice facilitation skills through role- play
Who Should Attend:
- Program / project coordinators and team leaders of community-based organizations
- Board members of new or volunteer-based community organizations
- Individuals engaged in managing meetings with coalitions and networks
- This workshop builds on material covered in CAP 108 , Great Groups! It is NOT designed for facilitation in a therapeutic setting
