Researchers aimed to conduct a needs assessment of new refugees and immigrants in downtown Toronto. Specifically, they examined the situation of refugees and immigrants using the shelter system. The goals of the project were to learn about the social problems facing these vulnerable populations; and to identify strategies preventing them from becoming chronically homelessness.
