Rachel is a Masters of Public Health candidate (2019) at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto with a concentration in Social and Behavioural Health Sciences and specializations in public health policy and global health. She has worked for Health Action International researching access to medicines policy in the Pacific Rim and writes for Upstream, a non-profit organization providing evidence-based recommendations regarding the social determinants of health. Rachel is passionate about examining the risk-multiplying effects of declining planetary health on already marginalized populations as part of an equity-focused approach to health promotion. She aims to bring this intersectional, systems-thinking lens to her policy and program work around the social determinants of health.
