Rebecca conducts research to increase equitable access to health care and strengthen the capacity of health organizations to advocate for health equity. As the Bob Gardner Equity Junior Fellow in 2015-2016, Rebecca worked with community health centres to understand how they advocate for health equity in Toronto. She is driven to better understand and address the roots of health inequities through action-oriented research, in partnership with communities, service providers, and policy makers. Rebecca has a Master of Public Health with a specialization in Health Promotion from the University of Toronto. Rebecca has experience in community engagement and partnered research related to healthy cities and communities, LGBTQ health, and newcomer health and income security through her work at Access Alliance, CAMH, the Centre for Research on Inner City Health at St. Michael’s Hospital, and the Healthier Cities & Communities Hub at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health.
