Rumaisa is currently pursuing her Masters of Public Health at University of Toronto’s Dalla Lana School of Public Health in Health Promotion. She completed her undergraduate degree also at UofT in which she majored in Health Policy, and pursued a double minor in Political Science and Anthropology. Rumaisa has a passion for working with youth and with newcomer and refugee populations. During her undergraduate degree, she held a leadership position with the World University Service of Canada’s Student Refugee Program and was involved with the Toronto Ward Museum’s oral history project around migration. In addition to her love for qualitative research, policy and community-based initiatives, she is also interested in the ways in which arts-based and creative platforms can promote health.
