More than eight million Canadians – almost one million Torontonians – live with a disability that impacts their daily activities. People living a disability face additional challenges in their social determinants of health as well as barriers accessing appropriate housing, employment and essential services such as education and healthcare. These barriers intersect, resulting in people with a disability experiencing shorter and unhealthier lives. It’s important they have access to what they need to thrive.
