Good quality, safe and affordable public transport systems are indispensable for health. They enable access to employment and education, health services, social connections, healthy food and green spaces. Poor transport systems lead to increased risk of road traffic injuries, physical inactivity and respiratory diseases. Poor transport is also a significant contributor to poor air quality and greenhouse gas emissions.
