The average Canadian works 33.3 hours per week. So it’s no surprise that working conditions affect health. But what makes a workplace healthy? Workplace safety, a thriving wage, access to decent benefits, mental health supports, as well as anti-racism and anti-discrimination policies all contribute to a healthy workplace. As workplaces continue to evolve, and conditions change, employee health should remain a priority.

Care economy jobs must be thriving jobs 

In a new research project, Wellesley Institute is applying the thriving at work framework to better understand PSW and ECE work environments. We want to learn how these jobs can support workers’ health and well-being, and what helps these workers thrive in the workplace.
