Just imagine: A city that ‘lifts the lives of all’

Fairness, opportunity and equity can serve as the defining feature in a new era of urbanization. The Just City is an amazing video from the Ford Foundation that welcomed attendees to its 75th anniversary event. The Wellesley Institute works to advance population health and equity throughout the Greater Toronto Area. The compelling vision in this video presents a practical challenge: How to build a shining new city on the foundations of our current Toronto, which is divided by income, health and other factors.

Acknowledgement of Traditional Land

We wish to acknowledge this land on which the Wellesley Institute operates. For thousands of years, it has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
