Building TO’s housing plan from the ground up

The City of Toronto is getting set to adopt a 10-year housing plan called Housing Opportunities Toronto . The city needs to move quickly to catch up to hundreds of U.S. and Canadian cities that have already adopted and are implementing housing and homeless plans. The Wellesley Institute is calling on the Toronto City Council to adopt the plan, but revise the targets to better reflect Toronto’s real housing needs. Acknowledgement of Traditional Land

We wish to acknowledge this land on which the Wellesley Institute operates. For thousands of years, it has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
