A valiant team of homeless football (that's soccer to most North Americans) players from Canada competed at the Homeless World Cup in Copenhagen last weekend (August 4).
Teams of players who are homeless came from 48 nations. Our home country team came in at number 40 – not exactly a gold performance if you think that being at the top of the league is the most important thing. But Canada did win the UEFA Fair Play Coaches Award – confirming that, even if Canadians are not always competitive, we're always decent, well-behaved and good sports!
