Creating Homefullness In Ontario: Presentation To Toronto Anglican Diocesan Committee

Creating homefullness in Ontario is the title of a presentation to the Anglican Diocese of Toronto’s Social Justice and Advocacy Committee by the Wellesley Institute’s Michael Shapcott on Tuesday, March 1, 2011. In this presentation, Michael provides a brief overview of the housing landscape, Ontario government initiatives and offers advice to committee members, who have been active in recent years in meeting with their MPPs on housing and homelessness issues.

Acknowledgement of Traditional Land

We wish to acknowledge this land on which the Wellesley Institute operates. For thousands of years, it has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
