Wellesley Institute Board of Directors Departing Chair Essay Contest
Wellesley Institute has started a new essay contest to recognize the important contribution that our Board of Directors Chair contributes to our organization and to health equity in the GTA. Each year the Wellesley Institute will award $500 to the best essay on a topic within the social determinants of health and health equity in the GTA. The contest will be opened for the first time in November 2015, after the departure of Roger Barton from the board. The theme this year, chosen by our departing chair Roger Barton, is income inequality.
Guidelines
- 2000 words max
- on a topic of health equity and the social determinants of health in the Greater Toronto Area, with a focus on income inequality
- this contest is open to students at the undergraduate level, we will not accept submissions from Masters’ students or higher
- must be submitted with a CV
Essays are due March 31st at 12:00 p.m. Late submissions will not be accepted. Send your completed essays and CVs to contact@wellesleyinstitute.com
The winner will be announced in July 2016 and the prize will be awarded at the Wellesley Junior Fellowship final presentation gala in September 2016. Winning essays will then be posted on wellesleyinstitute.com
