Dixon Hall provides social housing services to residents in Regent Park. With a revitalization project planned for the area, Dixon Hall recruited researchers to assess how they could improve community cultural services through the rejuvenation process. Researchers used a cultural mapping approach based on the idea that a strong cultural infrastructure is crucial for community well-being and they developed a survey for Dixon Hall employees and other community groups. Major gaps in cultural services included a lack of space, lack of long-term funding, the need for more inclusive cultural programs, and a lack of networking with other organizations. The researchers recommend steps Dixon Hall can take to these weaknesses in their cultural services.
