Researchers held workshops with Chinese high school students in Toronto over a five month period. The goals of the project were to learn about the social issues impacting Chinese Canadian youth and to provide training in anti-racist issues and leadership skills. Many of the students reported feeling marginalized in schools and neglected by teachers and guidance councilors. Participants built upon their experiences and used the new skills learned from the workshops to create a bilingual newsletter specifically for newly arrived Chinese high school students in Toronto.
