Thriving in the City: A Framework for Income and Health

This paper offers a framework to measure thriving in the city, a measure that reflects the physical, mental, and social dimensions of health.

The case for income-related health disparities has been made clear. Meeting a basic standard of living, through providing enough income for housing, food, and transit, will lift people out of poverty but a life where one can pay off debt, save for the future, pursue training and education, and thrive requires more than a bare minimum.
