There is now a volunteer opportunity to join our Board of Directors in October 2022. There is also a specific volunteer opportunity for someone who holds the Chartered Professional Accountant designation to fill the office of Treasurer.
We are seeking leaders or emerging leaders who are passionate about Wellesley Institute’s mission and vision, share our values and want to provide meaningful input into the oversight of the Organization. The Board of Directors provides a wealth of experience in health research, urban policy issues, and community capacity building as well as financial management and governance, to guide the Wellesley Institute’s mission. Our Board is composed of people from social services, non-profit, health care professional, legal, business and academic sectors.
Candidates for the Board must have prior experience with organizational and/or community governance, for example on a board of directors or in a similar role. Ideally, candidates will live in the Greater Toronto Area as this is the focus area of Wellesley Institute.
We are specifically interested in candidates who have experience in the following:
- Involvement with Indigenous, Black and/or other racialized communities
- Health equity research and/or advocacy with Indigenous, Black and/or other racialized communities
- Leadership within Indigenous, Black and/or other racialized communities
