The NE LHIN must ensure that actions are fair and equitable, and that relevant information and facts are taken into account (p.11)
French Language Health Services
- The LHIN is developing a reporting tool to be implemented by hospital and community service providers to determine how equitable they are at providing access to health services in French
Equity in the NE LHIN
Equity and accessibility refers to the fair, just and optimal distribution of resources and services. Ensuring that the right type and number of services are available across the NE is both critical and challenging in achieving our vision of health and wellness for all (p.26)
- To enhance equity, the health system’s policies and practices must be changed and our decision-making processes must be more inclusive
- In an effort to make programs and services more equitable, the NE LHIN has attempted to assess gaps and measure improvements in equity across the region
