WCH pioneering health practice lives on in updated HIV and rehabilitation manual

The Wellesley Institute is proud to trace our legacy through the former Wellesley Central Hospital – and the hospital continues to live on through its pioneering urban health practice. In 1998, the Wellesley Central and Health Canada published a guide to HIV and rehabilitation, and an updated version has just been released by the Canadian Working Group on HIV and Rehabilitation. For people living with HIV, periods of good health are often interrupted by periods of illness and disability. The rehabilitation guide is a detailed manual to help people with HIV remain healthy, participate in the workforce and be active in their homes and communities.

Acknowledgement of Traditional Land

We wish to acknowledge this land on which the Wellesley Institute operates. For thousands of years, it has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
