To understand what can be done about housing and homelessness, it’s necessary to understand the roots of the current national crisis. That’s a key message in a presentation by the Wellesley Institute’s Director of Housing and Innovation Michael Shapcott to University of Toronto social policy, planning and health policy students at a seminar on June 4, 2013. In his presentation, Shapcott provides an overview of the erosion of federal housing funding over the past two decades and surveys the current policy landscape.
