Vision 2020: Foundation for a comprehensive Ontario housing plan

Ontario’s affordable housing plan needs to be built on a foundation that includes solid targets and timelines, and co-ordinates housing and homelessness initiatives of federal, provincial and municipal governments; along with the work of non-profit and private housing and service providers. Wellesley Institute CEO Rick Blickstead and Michael Shapcott, Director of Affordable Housing and Social Innovation, meet with Ontario housing minister Jim Watson to deliver the first draft of key elements of a provincial housing plan. Minister Watson has promised that he will deliver a provincial housing plan by the end of June, 2010.

Acknowledgement of Traditional Land

We wish to acknowledge this land on which the Wellesley Institute operates. For thousands of years, it has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
