Good quality, affordable housing is a key determinant of health. The lack of adequate housing is directly linked to higher rates of illness and death. At the Wellesley Institute we actively monitor public policy on housing issues at the municipal, provincial, federal level, and internationally. We work with our partners to develop practical solutions that meet the real need for new homes, upgrades to existing rundown housing, rent supplements to help low-income people pay their housing costs, emergency relief and eviction prevention.
